Homework Schedule

You will be given homework to complete out of school, or in school if you stay to club. We may ask you to do some research, a topic related task, a formal piece of writing or to complete a project. In addition, each child is expected to read and learn spellings and multiplication tables from Year 1 onwards.

Reading at home is very important and we suggest you do this every day and record what you have read in your Reading Diary. In Years 3 and 4 you will be expected to complete approximately 20 minutes of homework per night, which increases gradually until Year 6 when you are expected to work for up to 40 minutes.
READING - You will have home reading books which you can read to someone at home. Children who are good at reading do well in all subjects as a result. We have a well-stocked library and you are encouraged to borrow from a wide range of books including fiction, non-fiction and audio books.
MATHS - We expect you to learn your times tables off by heart and to do mental maths. This could be by counting and adding on the way to school or working out the change when you go shopping. Anything that helps you become confident with numbers is a good thing!

Here you can find some homework guides which should help you when you are trying to work at home.
