Enhancing the Curriculum
OFSTED 2019 'Pupils benefit from a rich curriculum. Extra-curricular opportunities complement their study of different academic subjects.'
TRIPS AND EXPERIENCES
Gracefield’s academic learning programme is enhanced by an extensive programme of events and excursions. Our calendar is full of special events which add another dimension to school life. We like to give the children the opportunity to expand their educational horizons and to take a keen interest in the world around them. Exciting trips in a wide variety of hands-on, interactive environments bring the learning process to life in a fun, imaginative way. Our Woodland Adventures offer the children the opportunity to learn from the natural world through hands on activities. The children observe the changing seasons, study mini beasts and learn to understand and respect the life of the forest. The freedom to climb trees and splash in the stream is an experience not to be missed!
We hold many events including School Fairs, Harvest Supper and Games and Sports Day, which build a community spirit and we regularly hold events where we invite parents to experience school life with their child.
Each year our Year 6 children go away for a fun and exhilarating residential activity weekend. Children have the opportunity to learn independence and take on new challenges. The social aspect is also very important as they live together, and develop teambuilding skills. The PGL trip is a perfect end to their time at Gracefield School and the memories made there will last a lifetime.
